Bridge memorials at Gold Medal Park

UPDATED August 6, 2007, 11:18am

If you would like to leave flowers or other memorials of the victims of the I-35W bridge collapse, city officials urge you to do so at Gold Medal Park.

The new riverfront park next to the Guthrie Theater has a viewing mound; you can place your memorial there on the wood chips. (Officials asked in a statement that memorials not be left on the grass.)

If you’re interested in helping in other ways, the Minnesota Helps – Bridge Disaster Fund is collecting contributions and directing them to where they’re most needed. The fund will assist nonprofit organizations helping victims, families and rescuers.

You can make a donation by going to www.minnesotahelps.org.
