Inaugurated in 2007, the Minneapolis Bike Tour has become a tradition for cyclists of all ages. The tour provides individuals and families the opportunity to enjoy Minneapolis’ spectacular park and byway systems at their own pace, unhindered by motorized traffic. Proceeds benefit the Minneapolis park system and the Minneapolis Parks Foundation. Parkways are closed to motorized traffic for both a short (14 mile) and a long (37 mile) route.

MRES' Solar Boat Regatta provides an opportunity for middle and high school students (as well as individual boat builders) to build a boat that runs on solar power. They compete in a number of races, culminating with a one-hour endurance race. This event has given hundreds of junior and senior high school students valuable and unique experience with solar electricity, wiring, motors, fluid dynamics, boat design, construction, and teamwork. By racing the solar powered boat that they have put together, students experience the thrill of competition and the pride of accomplishment that comes with creating something useful and fun.

Jazz Fest kicks off on Thursday, June 17th with the return of the popular Jazz Night Out Club Crawl featuring live music in a number of downtown Saint Paul clubs. Thursday night will also feature jazz vocalist Pippi Ardennia, a Chicagoan now based in Saint Paul, on the Mears Park Main Stage (in partnership with Music in Mears) from 6 to 9 p.m.
